Vacation Vibes...

Given that I am currently on vacation and have some extra time on my hands, I spent part of my morning wandering around Aurora Island. I set out from Words and Lyrics Cafe in my new buggy and to my surprise, happened upon a Therebucks Cafe owned by bubblegumgirl.







Therebucks is not very far from the Nitro neighborhood, and I enjoyed hanging out here for a bit and listening to tunes such as Hotel California. I am still a habitual newspaper reader, as you can see. FYI -- the two books and newspaper were added with Gemini A.I.

I also read the news on my phone, but there is nothing like sitting down with a good book or newspaper during a quiet morning or afternoon. I remember buying a USA Today in my local convenient store a while back, and the Gen-Z cashier said she respects that I still read them!

After leaving the cafe, I explored a nearby marina and housing development. It is nice to see more real estate springing up on this part of Aurora Island, and perhaps this spot will attract even more residents in the future.



Several years ago, a thereian built his own neighborhood on the North end of Aurora Island. I remember coming across it during one of my explorations and was surprised to see a very large rule book at the entrance to the development. Apparently, the owner of this town had a thing for regulations, and he made sure everyone could see them before entering! Glad I have not encountered one since! LOL




Later in the afternoon, I logged back onto there and resumed my exploring, this time by helicopter/hoverboat. I did a double take when I saw an immense snow-globe in Nitro.

This structure is Goober Goalie's GBR Events Center, and it is very impressive inside and out. Enter the winter lodge to enjoy all the Xmas-themed trappings, and you can gaze out the huge windows at snowcapped mountain peaks. The imagery seamlessly wraps around the building to complete a very well-crafted illusion. You just have to appreciate the stuff Goobs keeps coming up with!

  Glob's YouTube sequel video dropped on May 24th, 2026, and I think most thereians would agree it was well worth the wait.  The first half unfolded like the director's cut of a popular film, and I thought it was fun and insightful to see extended conversations and various scenes play out in the sequel. I Spent 100 Days in a Dead Game I know some people in the comments section of YouTube were not happy with this format, but that's why the fast-forward button exists, of course. I had an afternoon free and was perfectly content with a nearly one-hour running time. Upon finding out about the video's Sunday-afternoon release, I quickly created a watch-party event at my cafe and had a decent-sized crowd show up. Concert Under the Stars...

  On Saturday, March 7th, Words and Lyrics Cafe hosted musician Franklyn Woods for a two-hour concert. The event was a big success, with 35 people enjoying all or parts of the show. A special thank you goes to thereian Schlafstimulans  for helping out with the set up and soundchecks! Speaking of sound, pretty much everyone thought Franklyn sounded great on his Youtube livestream. He went through an impressive and wide-ranging catalog of original tunes infused with country and folk vibes. Franklyn also talked about how he often enjoys small venues rather than bigger spaces, since the audience's reaction is more up-close and personal in places like coffee shops and cafes. I also wanted to express my appreciation for everyone that helped STUFF the tip jar during the evening. Very generous indeed!
