Taking flight...

Mango Market had a LOT going on this weekend. After watching a true-crime episode with some friends over at Words and Lyrics  cafe, I skedaddled over to a buggy bash event and enjoyed 7 rounds of vehicular mayhem. I did not walk away with any prizes, unfortunately, but I did catch a cool picture of a buggy launch. Pretty sure the unfortunate driver is Rosie! High above the bash arena on a transparent platform, a clash of cards was also happening. I guess this is what they mean by STACKING events . Although all the events on Mango Market Saturday evening were entertaining, I think everyone would agree that Goober Goalie's concert was incredible. The music, vibes, and energy were all next level. I had no idea what to expect from his music but came away super impressed. And I am so glad his pet dog is doing better after surgery. I also have to give a shout-out to Dallas_7's recent St. Patrick's Day party. The drinks and bawdy humor were flowing at this one, especially during...

Concert Under the Stars...

On Saturday, March 7th, Words and Lyrics Cafe hosted musician Franklyn Woods for a two-hour concert. The event was a big success, with 35 people enjoying all or parts of the show. A special thank you goes to thereian Schlafstimulans  for helping out with the set up and soundchecks! Speaking of sound, pretty much everyone thought Franklyn sounded great on his Youtube livestream. Franklyn also talked about how he often enjoys small venues rather than bigger spaces, since the audience's reaction is more up-close and personal in places like coffee shops and cafes. I also wanted to express my appreciation for everyone that helped STUFF the tip jar during the evening. Very generous indeed! Also a thank you to Rowdi_Designs for providing everyone with flaming banana drinks -- it gave me a flashback to an early 90s Van Halen concert where audience members were setting their ...

"Born and raised where city meets country, Franklyn Woods finds inspiration for his emotive songs in the vast fields of the  Fraser Valley, and the train-tracks and alleys lining the core of his small-town home, Matsqui, BC. Driven by his passion for writing and making music, Woods' soft-spoken, “alternative country” style blurs the edge between downhome and downtown..." -trevor carolan-  Franklyn's Website I would like to thank Rowdi_Designs for her sponsorship of Franklyn's concert this weekend at Words and Lyrics . She has generously provided TWO prizes for giveaways -- 10k in therebux and a green hoverbike. So be sure and check out her shop (next to mine) before or after the concert and browse the latest styles. Gabby dropped by Words and Lyrics the other morning, and we had a nice time chatting about random topics. Later, he even donned an apron and worked the counter for a while. ☺I'm always grateful when thereians step up and contribute in some way o...
