In April of 25 I was happy as a clam (though why people say they are happy as a shellfish, I don’t get) meeting new people in There.com Globatron’s video had come out in the middle of the month and had gone viral. I wanted to come home from work and just be on the welcome walkway.


I met tons of new people. Most were just casual visitors checking it out. But it was sooo much fun to be out meeting new people again. The numbers dried up all too quickly though. Not even sure what day I stopped going back to the welcome walkway. Still it was amazing fun while it lasted and the huge influx kept the lights on another year as it were.






Then again this was the year There stopped working for me. On June 5th 2025 There kept crashing. Re-installing did not work. I ended up hosting events from another older machine I hooked up out in the kitchen.





It was painful hosting trivia and Thereywood Squares from the kitchen. There was really helpful trying to get my machine to work. Now, I can get it to work most times by fiddling with sound settings.

I think it is trying to use the mic on the VR headset in the other room which is powered down, as generally fiddling with audio settings allows it to work OK most of the time now.

I did a radio spot with Banshee Kate and Ricpa advertising her designs that was frustrating as my internet decided to go out. Thanks to IAAW and Lostinthewoods I had a perfect year of doing Cross Country Racing!






I think the coolest thing in There this year has been There Be Dragons, the series of fantasy themed events hosted by Dallas_7. I just recently designed some interactive skeletons for his event. If you have not tried that yet, give it a try. There is lucky to have him. I am glad he saw Glob’s video.

Dallas and Mortazel(another cool dude) also brought back Thereywood Squares for another incarnation with me as the question dude ( I think that is the official title) asking all the questions and trying to read the answers back with a straight face.






Through this incarnation, the event is only once a month on average, so I just skip hosting my normal weekly trivia and host more trivia…on a nicer set!






I continue to work on scripts, props and sets for Thongor There Barbarian. I think I’ve got more than 70 pages of typed content ideas and scripts now. Probably best I get around to filming something. I am hoping for early June now. I do hope Globatron’s new video gets a ton of exposure.

Concert Under the Stars...

  On Saturday, March 7th, Words and Lyrics Cafe hosted musician Franklyn Woods for a two-hour concert. The event was a big success, with 35 people enjoying all or parts of the show. A special thank you goes to thereian Schlafstimulans  for helping out with the set up and soundchecks! Speaking of sound, pretty much everyone thought Franklyn sounded great on his Youtube livestream. He went through an impressive and wide-ranging catalog of original tunes infused with country and folk vibes. Franklyn also talked about how he often enjoys small venues rather than bigger spaces, since the audience's reaction is more up-close and personal in places like coffee shops and cafes. I also wanted to express my appreciation for everyone that helped STUFF the tip jar during the evening. Very generous indeed! Glob's New Video and Recent Events...

  Glob's YouTube sequel video dropped on May 24th, 2026, and I think most thereians would agree it was well worth the wait.  The first half unfolded like the director's cut of a popular film, and I thought it was fun and insightful to see extended conversations and various scenes play out in the sequel. I Spent 100 Days in a Dead Game I know some people in the comments section of YouTube were not happy with this format, but that's why the fast-forward button exists, of course. I had an afternoon free and was perfectly content with a nearly one-hour running time. Upon finding out about the video's Sunday-afternoon release, I quickly created a watch-party event at my cafe and had a decent-sized crowd show up. Shout-out to Cazz_luv for creating a promo poster on the fly! Seeing various friends and familiar faces show up in Glob's video was cool.
