A Night of Terror...and Laughs!
This past Saturday at Words & Lyrics Cafe, we enjoyed a radio play written by Shakeyspear. To the Dogs is a 25-minute audio drama that is a deft mix of horror and humor, along with a smattering of vintage cigarette ads. Perfect for an evening of light entertainment!
To the Dogs: An Old-Time Radio Play
After the play wrapped up, Corey, Rowdi Designs, and I enjoyed asking Bill (Shakeyspear) a number of questions regarding his theatrical career as a writer and actor. In addition to writing numerous plays, Bill has also enjoyed a long musical career as a guitarist. We were surprised AND very impressed to learn that he played guitar on Deborah Harry's most recent solo tour. Bill also remarked that Ms. Harry is one of the nicest and most gracious entertainers in the music industry.
Before concluding the event, we told Bill that we would love to host another of his radio-play events at my cafe, and he concurred. Although we had a small group in attendance, I realized that a lot of events were going on Saturday evening. My takeaway, though, is that it is great to have a lot of options to choose from. Have a Happy Easter, everyone!
