Holiday Events on There...
As we move through the month of December, I continue to host movie-and-video watch events on there.com. Our latest film was a Die Hard screening, and the event took place on a rooftop at Miracle Pictures Studios. A few weeks ago at Books and Tea, I asked Francis7 if he could construct an event space on top of one of his buildings, and he came through with a really nice "Nakatomi Heliport." Great work and attention to detail, Francis!
The screening also had some giveaways at the end. Rowdi_Designs chipped in with a buggy donation, and BABS donated a cash prize as well. Much appreciated, ladies! Mortazel walked away with 15k, and MistyAqua is the owner of a brand-new Xmas buggy.
It can sometimes be challenging to attract people to events on there, but the flip side is we have a much larger variety to choose from. Thinking back to 2024, I remember attending Halloween and New Year's parties with a smallish group of "die hards"(pun intended) on there. I have to say I am impressed with how much time and effort have gone into making elaborate Halloween and Christmas towns this year.
If you have not seen it yet, my Die Hard program guide has some interesting tidbits and background information about the film.
We also recently viewed a Youtube video about the 1975 sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald freighter on Lake Superior. The channel is Big Old Boats -- link below. Highly recommended with lots of interesting content about maritime mysteries and disasters.
As I said earlier, we have a nice variety of activities to choose from these days on there. Here are some random pictures from events I have attended since late November to December, 2025. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
