Weekends at Words and Lyrics

On Saturday, November 15, our group of true-crime enthusiasts gathered at Word & Lyrics to watch the latest video from David Oranchak's Let's Crack Zodiac series on Youtube. The episode examined the Z-13 and Z-32 cipher solutions proffered by Faycal Ziraoui, a French-Moroccan business consultant and engineer. These ciphers were mailed to the San Francisco Chronicle in 1970 by the infamous Zodiac Killer.

Many attempts have been made to decipher these encrypted messages, and pretty much everyone in our group expressed skepticism in Mr. Ziaraoui's solutions. Cipher experts point out these ciphers are extremely difficult to solve since they contain only 13 and 32 characters, respectively. David's video was nonetheless engaging and informative, and I plan to show more of them at my cafe in the future.

An event for Sunday night football was also hosted at Words & Lyrics on November 9th. We all wished Nuvoro a happy birthday, which he celebrated on November 10th. He half-seriously asked us if it was possible to stop time, and the best I could come up with is that our avatars never show any signs of wear and tear! We also discussed a variety of topics during the evening, including some creepy paranormal tales.

I also wanted to give a shout-out to Gabby095, who hosted a treasure hunt last weekend before my watch-party event. I donated two items with French connections to the hunt -- a miniature Statue of Liberty and a Cezanne painting. Xen walked away with some cash for successfully finding all the items and learning some new French words as well. Excellent travail, Gabby!
