The origins of NFL fantasy football can be traced back to 1962. That year, a part-owner of the Oakland Raiders named Bill Winkenbach accompanied the team on an East-Coast road trip. On this trip, Mr. Winkenbach came up with the idea of a statistics-based game that mirrored the actual performances of players in pro games.

This short, nearly 10-minute video takes us back to the events of 1962, when the Oakland Raiders were mired in a losing streak. It does a good job of showing the level of interest and enthusiasm there was in this new game, and the video's production values are very good as well.
