     A few years ago on there, I was talking with a friend about books we enjoy -- I commented that it would be nice to actually open a bookstore in the world. However, it never got past the talking stage since doing all the actual building and designing of such a store seemed too daunting a task.

     Fast forward to 2025, and I happened to discover an event invitation to a place called Mango Market, located on a small island on the North side of Aurora Island. I looked around and liked what I saw -- a circular array of small shops and then a few larger ones to complete the outdoor mall. It felt like a place where people would enjoy spending time, and separate areas were set up for yard sales and auctions.

 Then I recalled my book-shop idea. I found an empty store that I liked and quickly rented it. Thanks to Sal and Soede, the store was quickly decorated, and all I had to do was move a couple of items around to complete the look I had originally envisioned.

 The finished product resembles a lounge-cafe-performance space, which is by design. There is also a long, glass table at the front entrance of the shop, where anyone on there can put out a book or pamphlet display.

   I am sure a lot of people have creative content they would like to share, be it fiction, nonfiction, essays, podcasts, etc. So feel free to put stuff on the table that you would like to share. Both published and unpublished works are welcome. Of course, you will probably want to keep that (future) Oscar-winning screenplay under wraps!

  

   As far as the creative space of Words and Lyrics is concerned, I think it would be fun and interesting to have people talk about their myriad passion projects -- books or stories they are writing, fashion, photography, travels, etc.  I have a couple authors in mind that I would like to invite to Words and Lyrics, and I will also be doing blog entries on their books in the near future.

   So hopefully, things will start to happen as we move further into the summer, and everyone is invited to drop by Words and Lyrics to hang out or just see what is on the shelves. Have a great weekend!
